Grey’s Anatomy has seen a lot of changes in its long tenure on ABC. Other than the sickness and death the patients at Grey-Sloane Memorial Hospital face, nothing ever stays the same. This long-running hit show may be facing a new change. Scott Speedman, the actor who portrays Dr. Nick Marsh, may no longer be a part of this television show.
Scott Speedman To Star in Teacup
Speedman is now a member of the cast of Teacup. This is a horror-thriller television show that can currently be seen on the streaming service Peacock. He, along with Yvonne Strahovski from the hit show The Handmaid’s Tale on Hulu, are set to be the two main characters.
Seeing Speedman has been cast in one of the leading roles, it is difficult to imagine he will be able to continue as Dr. Meredith Grey’s current love interest on Grey’s Anatomy. The bouncing around from show to show would be difficult for Scott Speedman. It would also be difficult for the crews and the cast of the two different shows to schedule around his varying availabilities.
Why Would Grey’s Anatomy Keep Him?
The real question may be as to why Grey’s Anatomy would keep Dr. Marsh as a character. With Ellen Pompeo leaving the medical drama and Grey’s Anatomy being left with their beloved Meredith Grey, there are only a few reasons for Scott Speedman to continue appearing on the ABC television show.
Scott Speedman was seen in a preview of the upcoming season of Grey’s Anatomy. It is possible that is to enable his character to pop in and out of Grey-Sloane Memorial, doing transplant surgeries, to give updates on Meredith and her three children. Seeing he has taken on a leading role in Teacup, it is unlikely Speedman would become a main character.
The Many Losses Of Grey’s Anatomy
Grey’s Anatomy has had it share of losses. Pivotal characters move in and out of this drama almost as quickly as the patients do in its fictional hospital. Biggest loss, so far, has been that of Ellen Pompeo. It seems hard to believe the show can continue without Meredith Grey.
As the saying goes, “the show must go on.” Even with all great actors and actresses who have exited Grey’s Anatomy, the show has yet to stop. The medical drama has outlived many of the characters fans did not think could ever leave. If Scott Speedman does leave, there is no doubt it will not stop this hit show.
