90 Day Fiancé: Nick’s Inappropriate Comments About Devin Are Shocking (Will They Split?)

Seungdo Ham, AKA Nick from 90 Day Fiancé season 10, has been making disrespectful and damaging comments about Devin Hoofman. Nick is a 31-year-old man from Daejeon, South Korea, who was in Australia for work when he used the dating app Tinder to swipe right on Devin, 23. Nick and Devin were together for two years when she started feeling homesick. The couple believed they couldn’t have a long-distance relationship, so they decided to get engaged and file for a K-1 visa. It meant that Nick had to move to Searcy, Arkansas, after his Korean mother and father gave him their blessing.

Nick was worried about living with Devin’s parents, Kevin and Katrina. When he saw Searcy, it was different from the America Nick had seen in the movies. He expressed how scary it was for him, and was overwhelmed by Devin’s house, which was huge, and made him realize how rich she was. Nick met Devin’s sisters, Taylor and Cylar, and her brother Kaden. Still, Nick tried to make himself at home. Meanwhile, there were other things that Nick should have worried about, such as his habit of calling Devin “piggy,” seemingly out of affection on 90 Day Fiancé season 10.

Nick Refers To Devin As “Piggy” On 90 Day Fiancé

Nick claimed it was because of her “chubby” nature. “Devin calls me Monkey and I call her Piggy because she’s cute and a little chubby,” Nick had said during his introduction. He thought chubby meant “cute fat.” Devin had told the cameras that she tried telling Nick it was extremely rude to call someone that kind of nickname in the U.S., but the joke remained. With 84 days left to wed, Nick and Devin joined her parents for a fish fry get-together with her family friends Kevin and Michelle. Michelle wanted to know what South Korean people think of Americans.

Nick replied, “Greasy food and being fat.” Michelle was taken aback, but Nick explained it wasn’t his personal opinion. Devin justified Nick’s opinion by saying fast food was much cheaper than getting healthy food. “Or some people are just lazy,” Kevin said. Nick turned to Devin and joked about her being lazy. “No wonder you are piggy,” he continued while he touched her belly and said, “Look at this.” Devin’s father worried that Nick’s comments were bothering Devin deep down, even though she made it look like she was okay with it.

Devin Is Insecure About Her Weight Because Of Nick

Devin told the cameras, “The piggy nickname is something that has been a very long ongoing battle that I’ve very much given up on.” However, a preview for the next episode showed Devin trying on wedding gowns with her mom. She commented that she felt “awkward” with her arms out as she tried on a dress with thin straps. Her mom, Katrina, pointed out how Devin never really appeared as upset as she was, but she could read her daughter’s body language. She explained the situation as a “mini disaster” when Devin seemed to lock herself up in a room and cry.

Meanwhile, some 90 Day Fiancé fans reached out to Nick on Instagram to talk about his “piggy” nickname for Devin and how wrong it was. Nick didn’t respond well to the criticism as he shared a photo of himself captioned, “Why is everyone so upset? what’s wrong with calling my fiance a piggy? you’re upset because you’re actually fat??” In his comments, someone told Nick, “Because you’re giving fatphobic.” Still, while Nick’s comments bothered her, Devin did get married to Nick on April Fool’s Day in 2023, according to Starcasm. Perhaps Devin marrying him, despite his rude comments, gave Nick the confidence to be rude to his followers.
