WNBA Fans Roast Team USA Over Caitlin Clark Mistake After Olympics Update
The USA Women’s National Basketball team got off to a great start on Monday afternoon, kicking off their 2024 Paris Olympics journey with a 102 to 76 win over Japan. Team USA is now tied with Germany for first place in Group C, with two points each. Despite the dominant win and the star power Team USA possesses, the game against Japan recorded by far the lowest attendance number.
Many believe this wouldn’t have happened if Team USA had added Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark to the roster. The total attendance for all six Olympic women’s basketball games is as follows:
- Spain vs. China: 27,021
- Nigeria vs. Australia: 24,023
- Germany vs. Belgium: 20,021
- France vs. Canada: 20,221
- Serbia vs. Puerto Rico: 15,324
- USA vs. Japan: 13,040
United States guard Chelsea Gray and forward A’ja Wilson celebrated during the first half against Japan at the Paris 2024 Olympic Summer Games at Stade Pierre-Mauroy. The USA vs. Japan attendance was about 8,000 below the average for the first few days of the tournament.
With this news, WNBA fans have found another reason to blast Team USA for leaving Caitlin Clark off the roster and took to social media to share their thoughts. Team USA will be back in action on Thursday, August 1, as they take on Belgium at 3:00 p.m. ET.
