Whats Happened To Brandon Reid After Married At First Sight Season 10?
Brandon Reid appeared on Married at First Sight season 10, and it’s time for an update on him. Brandon was matched with Taylor Dunklin by the Married at First Sight experts. Season 10 took place in Washington D.C. and aired from January 1, 2020, to April 8, 2020, and had a total of 15 regular season episodes. Four other couples were featured in season 10 besides Brandon and Taylor: Jessica Studer and Austin Hurd, Meka Jones & Michael Wilson, Derek Sherman & Katie Conrad, and Zach Justice & Mindy Shiben.
Filming for season 10 took place in 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic. As of 2024, there are seventeen seasons of Married at First Sight. Season 10 only has one couple that is still together, Jessica Studer & Austin Hurd, who are welcoming their second child in August. The most recent season of Married at First Sight, season 17, featured Denver couples, and had a 0% success rate. In total, MAFS has matched 64 couples, of which, only 12 are still together, making the show’s success rate less than 20%. Brandon and Taylor contributed to that low success rate.
Brandon & Taylor Had A Disastrous Marriage
Brandon’s marriage to Taylor Dunklin was annulled in 2020. When Brandon met Taylor on the show, they were considered the romantic partners who were the most likely to succeed. However, their relationship wasn’t destined to last due to their incompatibility.
Brandon expressed discomfort about being filmed for the show, and the cameras seemed to trigger anxiety, along with Taylor posting selfies to social media. While there were compromises, they weren’t enough to prevent fights. His disagreements with production affected his season. Production explained that he signed an agreement to be filmed, and he took out his frustration on anyone in the vicinity, including his new wife.
When the marriage was annulled, it didn’t come as a surprise to fans who watched the whole season. Viewers noted that MAFS Brandon and Taylor argued a lot, and some of their fights were quite explosive. In one situation, Brandon gave a video diary cam when he slammed Taylor for going on Instagram to let her followers know she was single and what she wanted in a man (via Lifetime.) Brandon left the shared space, and Taylor got mad Brandon didn’t want to talk to her face to face.
What is Brandon Reid Up To Now?
The filming for that season took its toll on Brandon. According to Monsters & Critics, he never really adjusted to cameras despite making an effort to incorporate them into his life. In fact, he hasn’t posted any videos or pictures on various social media accounts and hasn’t posted updates about his life. It may be for the best, given that fans believe it was immature of him to take his anxiety out on the MAFS crew and Taylor. Brandon, who was granted the annulment (via @justvent2) has also said he felt frauded by the experts who mismatched him with Taylor last minute as a replacement.
Currently, Brandon and Taylor have filed restraining orders against each other, due to an altercation that happened after they separated.
What this means is they must stay a safe distance from each other, without any contact, to prevent future altercations. One can assume that Brandon, who divorced Taylor, is finding a way to move forward after their messy breakup and wants his privacy. Without all eyes on him, MAFS’s Brandon can figure out if he is the same person who took his problems out on his wife, or if he wants to be someone different.
Taylor’s Turned Over A New Leaf Since MAFS
For her part, MAFS’sTaylor has minimized her overall social media activity and is currently working as a John Hopkins University researcher. She still keeps in touch with some of the women from MAFS season 10. Her Instagram account is set to public, and she has shared some nice pictures and captions. However, Taylor is busy with her career. MAFS fans do wonder why Brandon agreed to do the show if he didn’t like being on camera. His camera-induced anxiety seemed genuine and he didn’t seem like the best candidate for reality TV fame.
With the new seasons airing every year, more couples are learning to have a production crew film every moment. To film the show, cast members need to be comfortable in front of the cameras, and they must be prepared to forfeit some privacy. They also need to be able to handle criticism from viewers. Even couples who make it out of Decision Day together on Married at First Sight have to face some criticism. It’s clear Brandon was not cut out for the show and felt cheated by the process while Taylor benefited from the experience.
