Was Angela Deem Fired From 90 Day Fiancé?

Angela Deem’s future in reality TV is muddled after her appearance on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 8. She joined the franchise in the second season of Before the 90 Days when traveling to Nigeria to meet Michael Ilesanmi for the first time. Angela and Michael became an instantly recognizable couple known for their intense fights. They went on to appear on multiple 90 Day Fiancé spin-offs, including The Last Resort and Happily Ever After? However, years passed, and Michael wasn’t approved for a visa to move to the United States to live with Angela.

Their fate shifted in Happily Ever After? season 8 after Micahel finally made the move to the States. However, their relationship was imperfect, and Angela hired a private investigator to dig up dirt on her husband. Before season 8 aired, she shockingly shared that Michael went “missing,” though he later confirmed he ran away from his wife for his safety. The news of their split left some fans questioning the couple’s future with the franchise. After a less-than-stellar showing throughout the season and its Tell All, it’s rumored that Angela may have been fired from 90 Day Fiancé.

Angela Deem’s Behavior Has Been Scrutinized By Fans

Angela has been scrutinized for her bad behavior throughout her time in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise. Her relationship with Michael began on rough terms. During Before the 90 Days season 2, it was revealed he cheated on Angela with another woman. The 90 Day star never forgave her husband for his first infidelity, and he went on to make more mistakes throughout their relationship. While Michael hasn’t been perfect, Angela’s anger has gotten the better of her, and she’s gotten physical with her husband on multiple occasions while filming the show.

She smashed a cake in his face, ripped off pieces of his car, and threatened violence towards Michael. During the Happily Ever After? season 6 Tell All, she channeled her anger by lashing out at Michael’s Aunt Lydia via video chat, flashing her breasts toward the camera and the in-person cast. Instead of condemning Angela’s behavior, some fans argued the network perpetuates her behavior by inviting her back to the show season after season. It’s no secret that their relationship has been entertaining over the years, though Angela shouldn’t be allowed to act out without any form of punishment.

Angela Deem Acted Out During The Happily Ever After Tell All

Angela acted out, once again, during the Happily Ever After? season 8 Tell All. It took years for Michael to move to the U.S. and they had a turbulent journey leading up to his arrival in Georgia. He upset Angela during the season by creating the “Paradise Men” group for men allegedly moving to the States. Throughout the season, she threatened to pull his visa and assured her husband he wouldn’t move with her to Georgia. Nonetheless, they went through with the move, and Angela expressed her anger at the Tell All.

90 Day Fiancé Tell Alls are always extremely dramatic. However, the season 8 reunion marked the first time Michael was present in person instead of attending via video chat. While most of the cast was excited to meet him up close and personally, Angela soured the day with her fits of anger and frequent outbursts. She barely let him talk during the show, leaving a bad taste in viewer’s mouths. Once again, Angela faced criticism for her behavior during the Tell All, further cementing the argument that she shouldn’t return to the show.

It’s Been Rumored She’s Not Returning To The Franchise Amid Her Split From Michael Ilesanmi

Angela and Michael’s future with 90 Day Fiancé is unclear. They’ve been immersed within the franchise for a decade, and it would be difficult to erase their legacy as a couple. Despite their bad showings, Angela and Michael have shared endearing moments. They used to be in love, but things have changed now, and they’ll likely stay split for good. Their marriage has been through far too many ups and downs for them to reconcile. Since he left Angela and her family in Georgia, the reality star filed for the annulment of her marriage with Michael.

Angela and Michael are most likely done for good. It would be odd to see either of them continue on the show with new partners. Angela said she wouldn’t join The Single Life, though it may be smart to cast her daughter, Skyla Deem, in the spin-off. She’s been featured on the show as a supporting character for quite some years, and it would be interesting to see her featured as a main cast member. Skyla could take Angela’s place in the franchise after drawing controversy amid her split from Michael.

Angela Claims She Wasn’t Fired From The Franchise

90 Day Fiancé's Angela Deem closes her eyes and clasps her hands, and Michael Ilesanmi rests his hand on his head.

Ahead of the Happily Ever After? season 8 premiere, it was rumored Angela quit the show after revealing Michael had left her. However, it took a few episodes before their segments as a couple began to air, confirming they were still a part of the cast. It was unclear if Michael would attend the Tell All after their split, though the episodes were filmed a month before his reported disappearance. Their breakup was not addressed during the final episodes with the cast present because it hadn’t occurred yet when they filmed.

With so much drama circulating about the couple, Angela has claimed she wasn’t fired from the franchise. During a YouTube Live on Auntie’s Advice in April 2024, she said, “I’m not fired. I’m coming soon. Just pay attention to the episodes closely. It was a living hell.” In another moment, she hinted at “coming back,” adding that she was “just getting started.” During a TikTok Live in May 2024, Angela joked about not appearing on the show again “unless they give me my own spin-off” in a clip posted by @90dayfiance.news.

Angela may have been jokingly referencing her future return to the show, but time will tell where she stands with TLC and 90 Day Fiancé after Happily Ever After? season 8. She and Michael have been one of the most notorious couples in the franchise for decades, and their split is a hot topic. Unfortunately, they’ve gone their separate ways, though their futures on the show are still unknown.
