Married At First Sight season 18 has only just begun, but there appears to be some tension between some of the experts that has been lingering throughout the last few seasons. The MAFS experts, who have been rotating throughout the run of the show but have stayed in place for the last several seasons, are there to facilitate the matchmaking process on the series, and then counsel the participants as they move through the experiment. Dr. Pepper Schwartz, the longest-standing expert on the panel, works alongside Pastor Cal Roberson and Dr. Pia Holec to go through the applicants each season, match them up into hopefully successful relationships, and facilitate counseling efforts as needed. Though the experts don’t guarantee that matches will turn into lasting relationships, it’s clear that they want the marriages they match up to work out. Still, the experts only have so much they can do when a couple isn’t working, and only have so much information to work with initially. With tension seemingly rising between the experts, things could be getting tougher.
MAFS Expert Dr. Pepper Has Been On The Show Since The Beginning
As the expert who’s been on the series the longest, Dr. Pepper tends to be an authority on Married At First Sight. Having appeared on the series throughout its run, Dr. Pepper has seen the best of the best and the worst of the worst when it comes to the matches made on the series. Even though there are some who disagree with the way Dr. Pepper works on the series, she tends to be the most reasonable, rational expert who takes the most important factors into making matches that will theoretically work.
Dr. Pepper’s time on Married At First Sight season 18 has already been somewhat different than the last seasons of the series. Questioning the decisions made by her fellow experts, she’s been more vocal about her opinion, especially during the MAFS matchmaking special. While Dr. Pepper has to consider all the angles from each of her colleagues, it’s clear that she has true expertise when it comes to creating couples on the series, especially considering she’s seen every MAFS couple walk through the experiment.
Dr. Pia Joined The Show During MAFS Season 15
Dr. Pia is a newer face on Married At First Sight, which she joined in the last handful of seasons. While the show has been suffering in the last several years, Dr. Pia joining in during Married At First Sight season 15 was a turning point for the show in a lot of ways. Opinionated and unafraid to speak up about how she’s feeling, Dr. Pia’s outspoken nature has gotten her in hot water with MAFS viewers in the past, but she’s done a good job with the participants throughout her time on the series, even after sparking some controversy.
Dr. Pepper & Dr. Pia Seem To Have Unresolved Tension
Married At First Sight season 18 has gotten off to an interesting start, especially with Dr. Pepper and Dr. Pia appearing to have some tension between them. While there’s no confirmation regarding the relationship between the doctors, both women seem to have interacted more with Pastor Cal than each other during the matchmaking special, and had very different opinions when it came to who should get matched up.
