Should Dijonai Carrington Face SUSPENSION For Her DIRTY PLAY On Caitlin Clark In Game 1?
One more Fever video for today because I just couldn’t call it a night without talking about this. I would have mentioned it in the previous video, but I didn’t have this angle. This is the first time I’ve seen it; they didn’t show it in the game.
This is D. Carrington’s finger to the eye on Caitlyn Clark early in the game. You saw the black eye, and there are a few things I want to discuss regarding this.
I believe this is suspension-worthy. Don’t get me wrong; they probably won’t do it. However, we have past history with the nonsense earlier in the season when she was making fun of people with epilepsy.
Remember when she mocked Caitlyn Clark? There was also all the nasty stuff that I know you all are aware of because we talked about it online. The horrible things she said about Fever fans and so on.
Now, regarding Caitlyn Clark, we know that she committed 16 or 17% of the flagrant fouls in the entire WNBA season. That’s just the ones that were called—not the ones that were ignored or not even called fouls.
You had the Kennedy Carter hit that was initially considered a regular foul but was later called a flagrant one after the league faced significant backlash for how ridiculous that was.
And one other thing that really drives me crazy is the nails. I don’t have a good image of them here, but I’m sure you’ve all seen Carrington play.
She’s not the only player with nails that are like needles or knives. In no professional sports league, where the priority is to protect players, should you be allowed to have those things on your fingers.
I don’t care if you find it fashionable; I don’t care if you like nails. That is just one of the choices you have to make if you’re going to play the sport—just like you have to wear the required uniform.
So first, let’s take a quick look at this. I want you to really pay attention to Deon Carrington’s hand movement with that right hand and her follow-through.
As someone who has played and attempted to deflect passes like that, I can tell you: that is not a natural motion. If you look at what she does with her hand and the way she closes it, almost to make a point, and then jabs—it’s not normal.
Her fingers should be open when trying to deflect a pass. The natural follow-through of the hand does not move that way. I do not give her the benefit of the doubt based on past experiences and her playing style.
The league needs to clean this up. Deon Carrington should be suspended for at least one game. A message must be sent.
Please understand, this isn’t even about Caitlyn Clark, although I could argue she is the ticket to the league. We’ve talked about her impact on attendance and everything else.
Caitlyn Clark is the WNBA. If the NBA said, “Hey, we’re not giving you any money,” the WNBA would not exist without Caitlyn Clark.
Now, look at her hand: watch how she closes her fingers together and jabs. This is not a normal follow-through. When you look at her hand being straight up, trying to deflect that pass, her arm shouldn’t come all the way down and forward.
If anything, it should go up and back, not forward and down toward the face while closing the fingers. Look at her hand! How is that normal?
This is getting out of hand for the WNBA. This stuff must be nipped in the bud. Enough is enough!
I didn’t look at these comments—I’m almost afraid to. Yeah, that’s an attack. Look at how her fingers curl as they come down Caitlyn Clark’s face. There’s never been any love lost between the two women.
I disagree with that. As I said, this is not a natural hand motion for a basketball defender in that situation. We need to investigate this because it’s so obvious it was intentional.
AF needs to be held accountable. This is definitely a game suspension-worthy incident.
I’m serious; enough is enough with this nonsense.
Waterboy, go see it! Agreed! Anyone else can’t tell me otherwise?
There it is: curves her hand! This is what I’m saying—people are picking up on this.
Look at how her fingers spread apart as they would when trying to deflect a pass over her head, and then she brings them together almost into a point with her fingers and jabs downward.
That’s not normal! Who TF curves their hand like that when they see the ball already being passed? Dirty players.
You can’t convince me that D. didn’t intentionally try to end Clark’s career right there. She is a dirty player—she is deranged AF.
This is what the announcer said. (Laughing emoji) (Laughing crying emoji)
But seriously, this type of behavior has to stop. The league cannot have this anymore. It is becoming ridiculous.
You have all these new fans who, by the way, WNBA viewing is not a habit for them. It is one season, and there is a long offseason. WNBA, you need these people to come back!
Please do the right thing: suspend her for at least one game.
She should not play on Wednesday. Do the right thing.
Let me know your thoughts in the comments below. Did you see it? Do you think a suspension is warranted based on everything we’ve seen so far?
Please don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe. I really do appreciate it, and we will talk to you later!
