SHOCKING! Caitlin Clark Just Shattered Another UNBELIEVABLE Record
The 2024 WNBA season was full of historic moments, but one player in particular had the majority of the spotlight—number one overall pick and WNBA All-Star, Caitlyn Clark of the Indiana Fever. To have achieved the things she did as a rookie is simply unheard of.
On Thursday night, the Fever played their final game of the regular season, and Clark continued to make unreal WNBA history on multiple accounts. In just 20 minutes of play against the Washington Mystics, Clark surpassed WNBA legend Diana Taurasi for the second-most three-pointers made in a single season in league history. To think that Clark is only a rookie and will only continue to get better is an incredibly daunting thought for the rest of the league.
She has dominated in her rookie season, making a strong case to not only be Rookie of the Year but also MVP and a member of the All-WNBA First Team. It will be incredible to see what she does under the brightest lights in a playoff atmosphere.
A total of 2,711 fans attended Thursday night’s season finale to see the Mystics take on the Fever. In a year where so many viewership and attendance records were broken, it was awesome to see the WNBA regular season end on such a high note. Typically, the Mystics play their home games at the Entertainment and Sports Arena; however, due to the projected turnout to see Clark and the Fever, the game was moved to Capital One Arena, home to the NBA’s Washington Wizards and the NHL’s Washington Capitals.
The Mystics were led by Shakira Austin, who scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds off the bench. Ariel Atkins and Emily Engstler each added 17 points in the Mystics’ win.
