Pauley Perrette Reunites With NCIS Co-Star Six Years After Series Exit
Former NCIS star Pauley Perrette is reunited with one of her old co-stars in a new series of images. The reunion comes over six years after Perrette’s final episode of the long-running show.
On Instagram, Perrette shared several images of herself with Brian Dietzen, the actor who played NCIS character Jimmy Palmer. The two were together after both had attended a show by Sarah McLachlan at the Hollywood Bowl. Also in the pictures is Kirsten Vangsness, who plays Penelope Garcia in Criminal Minds and its revival series, Criminal Minds: Evolution. The post comes with the caption, “NO CRIME WAS COMMITTED HERE!” It can be seen below.
Perrette was one of the original cast members of NCIS. She had long served as a fan favorite before her exit in 2018 during the show’s 15th season. Perrette’s departure followed reports of on-set conflicts with co-star Mark Harmon, who plays the role of Leroy Jethro Gibbs. Reportedly, the feud grew to the point that Perrette and Harmon were scheduled to film on different days so they would not have to interact.
Will Pauley Perrette Return to NCIS?
Harmon has since left the show as a starring cast member, though he will serve as narrator and executive producer of the upcoming prequel series, NCIS: Origins. With the actor no longer on the set of the main series, the door seems to be a bit more open for Perrette to return as Abby Sciuto. As she appears to still be on good terms with other cast members, she could be enticed to come back for a special appearance, given how she’s still missed by many fans as a favorite from the original cast.
“Not a bad idea [to bring her back],” CBS Studios President David Stapf told Deadline about a potential return for Perrette earlier this year, per Deadline. “We haven’t talked about it or thought about it. We love Pauley, and she’s always welcome in any of the NCIS franchise, but it hasn’t come to us from the writers and/or from her. I kind of was kidding when I said, it’s not a bad idea but it’s genuinely not a bad idea, she was a beloved character.”
NCIS is still ongoing, and anything can happen in the future. Meanwhile, other characters from the past have also been coming back. Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo are set to lead their own spinoff series, dubbed NCIS: Tony & Ziva, which will see the two reprise their roles as Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David.
