Married At First Sight Season 18 Premiere Date Announced As Major Red Flags & A Cheating Scandal Threaten To Derail Show

Lifetime officially announced the Married At First Sight season 18 premiere date. Married At First Sight season 17 ended in disaster, as all five couples got divorced. Becca Haley and Austin Reed initially affirmed their commitment to each other on Decision Day, but then they split up amid accusations that he lied to her. Michael Shiakallis wanted to remain married to Chloe Brown, but the latter rejected him on Decision Day.

Married At First Sight season 18, premiering on October 15, will feature 10 new singles.

Married At First Sight season 18 is set to premiere on October 15 at 8 p.m. EDT, according to a press release from Lifetime. The new season will feature 10 singles who will attempt to meet and get married to their new spouses, who are complete strangers. Decision Day will be very important when the couples face the all-important moment of reckoning as they decide whether they want to stay together as a married couple or go through a divorce after knowing each other for only eight weeks.

According to Lifetime, Married At First Sight season 18 will feature a couple swap that spawns out of a cheating scandal. Pastor Cal, Dr. Pepper and Dr. Pia are the returning experts whose goal is to advise the couples during the initial stage of their relationships. Keshia Knight Pulliam will host Married At First Sight: Afterparty, a bonus installment after every episode that will let the contestants and other guests weigh in on the drama each week. Before the MAFS premiere, though, Lifetime will air two specials on October 8 that will give viewers insight into the new couples.

Alongside the official premiere date announcement, People unveiled the Married At First Sight season 18 couples. Karla and Juan, Camille and Thomas, Madison and Allen, David and Michelle, and Emem and Ikechi will all be featured this season in Chicago. The Married At First Sight Instagram account posted a video that featured the cast members. What starts out as a nice video turns into almost a horror movie, perhaps to foreshadow what’s to come.

What Cheating Scandal Means For Married At First Sight Season 18

Married At First Sight Season 18 Premiere Date Announced

Married At First Sight doesn’t have a great track record of success, especially in recent years. Just looking at the five most recent seasons, only one couple–Nicole Lilienthal and Christopher Thielk from Married At First Sight season 16–stayed married after Decision Day. Based on that, there’s a low chance the new Married At First Sight season 18 couples will stay together. The fact that Lifetime is already promoting a cheating scandal and couple swap proves that the drama will always reign supreme over the compatibility and well-being of the cast.

The comments sections of official Married At First Sight posts on Instagram, including the one announcing the new cast members, are filled with fans complaining about the producers not caring about the couples. Time and again, the experts come under fire for not doing a great job at being experts. The producers and experts need to start caring far more about compatibility than anything else.

If the experts don’t start making changes, then the cast members that appear each season will just keep ending their relationships in divorce. The mention of a cheating scandal is a major red flag. It means fans will likely be proven right yet again, unfortunately.
