‘MAFS’ Star Dies Behind Bars At 33

Andrew Jury Died Behind Bars In Auckland
Andrew Jury died behind bars. He was at the Mt. Eden Corrections Facility in Auckland at the time of his death. The former MAFS star was being held “facing charges that included assault with intent to injure, willful damage, and possession of an offensive weapon.”
His father, Roy Jury, said that he had concerns about his son’s mental health before his passing. The reality TV star died just hours before a scheduled court appearance. Prison officials reportedly rushed to save his life.
In a joint Instagram post, Andrew Jury’s former co-stars shared the devastating news of his passing with fans. Viewers first met the Married At First Sight New Zealand star while he was living in Auckland. Andrew worked as a builder and was 26 years old at the time.
The MAFS season Andrew starred in aired in 2017. He was living in a house share but was interested in settling down with a “caring” partner.
MAFS Co-Stars Share The News Of Andrew’s Death
Brett and Angel Renall and Benjamin Blackwell shared the news of the former MAFS star’s death. They also starred in Season 1 of Married At First Sight New Zealand and were saddened to hear about their co-star’s passing.
The statement issued in the joint Instagram post reads, “It’s with the heaviest hearts we’ve come together to acknowledge the passing of Andrew Jury…” His co-stars labeled Andrew as the “life of the party” and said that he was excited to appear on MAFS.
“We had the absolute pleasure of filming and participating in a show which leaves us intricately linked for a lifetime,” the statement continued. “Despite his struggles, Andrew was always friendly and the life of the party during our shared experience and he really valued his time on the show.”
“At this time our entire cast wish to send our deepest condolences and love to his family – Ben, Angel, Brett, Vicky, Haydn, Lacey, Claire, Dom, Aaron, Luke, Belinda,” the post concluded.
Warner Bros Discovery also issued a statement regarding the MAFS cast member’s death. “Warner Bros Discovery expresses our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Andrew Jury,” the studio said.
“WBD takes duty of care extremely seriously and has protocols in place regarding the wellbeing of cast and crew,” it continued. “All MAFS NZ contributors have access to mental health professionals throughout the process, including pre-screening, during production, and after broadcast.”
When he appeared on MAFS, Andrew Jury matched with Vicky Gleeson-Stokes. The pair wound up staying together throughout the series, but would later call it quits on their relationship after the show wrapped.
