MAFS Alumni: Cast Members Who Found Love and Married Again

Some stars have found love outside the show after experiencing disappointment on Married At First Sight. Since its premiere in 2014, Married At First Sight has become one of the most-watched reality TV series, spawning several equally successful spin-offs. The show’s premise of having singles get legally married to a stranger the moment they meet drew in many fans, and with Married At First Sight season 18 premiering soon, the show’s pull remains very strong.

After leaving the show, some stars successfully found their perfect matches, got married, and welcomed children.

However, despite the enthusiasm surrounding its premise and the meticulous work of the experts to successfully match couples, after 17 seasons of Married At First Sight, the show still has one of the lowest success ratings for creating long-term couples. Many seasons have even ended without any couples saying “yes” on decision day. Nonetheless, after leaving the show, some stars successfully found their perfect matches, got married, and welcomed children.

Tristan Thompson

Tristan’s relationship with Mia Bally was one of the most dramatic in Married At First Sight season 7. From Mia getting detained at the airport, which delayed the couple’s honeymoon plans, to explosive fights, cheating allegations, and many threats of leaving the marriage, Tristan and Mia brought entertainment to the season. Despite the drama, Tristan and Mia surprisingly said yes on decision day, but their marriage only lasted months before they filed for divorce. In 2020, Tristan married Rachel White, his current partner, and the couple welcomed son Phoenix Zane Thompson in March 2021.

Jon Francetic

Jonathan Francetic Molly Married at First Sight

Jon and Molly Duff’s Married At First Sight season 6 relationship was one of the most toxic of the season. Despite initially looking like a match made in heaven, Jon and Molly’s communication issues would lead to constant fights, arguments, and name-calling on and off the show. Unsurprisingly, just six weeks after their vows, Jon and Molly end their marriage without making it to decision day. However, after leaving the show, Jon married Dr. Jessica Griffin, who starred on MAFS season 6,7,8 as a relationship expert. It seems Molly was always the problem.

Cortney and Jason Carrion’s relationship initially looked like a match made in heaven due to how quickly the couple gelled after their vows in MAFS season 1. Cortney and Jason shared the same religious and family values, and it wasn’t surprising to see them say “yes” on decision day. However, the news of their divorce in 2019, five years after their vows, caused a shock in the MAFS universe. Nonetheless, a year later, Cortney married her current husband, Sherm, in 2020. The couple have since become parents to two children.

Davina Rankin

Davina and Ryan Gallagher’s relationship in Married At First Sight season 5 is regarded as one of the most dramatic in the franchise’s history. After being paired as partners, Davina would go behind Ryan’s back to match with another groom, Dean, which created a whirlwind of controversy. However, Dean and Davina’s alliance to dump their partners and get together backfired after Dean reneged. Still, since leaving MAFS, Davina married Jaxon Mauel before their divorce in 2013. The couple share a daughter, Mila-Mae.

Jaclyn Schwartzberg

Ryan Buckley and Jaclyn’s choice to stay together on Married At First Sight season 6 decision day was wholly expected, considering how the two got along during the season. Jaclyn and Ryan navigated their differences well on the show, and after leaving MAFS, it looked like they would stay together for years. Sadly, their marriage only lasted ten months before they filed for divorce. Jaclyn, who noted she felt happier after the divorce, married her current husband, Dane Olah, in September 2020. The couple welcomed daughter Emilia Shea in 2022.

Sheila Latrice

Like most Married At First Sight marriages, Sheila and her much younger match, Nate, got on pretty well after their vows. However, the couple first had to contend with Nate’s family not accepting Sheila, but despite the hurdles, they said “yes” on decision day, with Sheila also taking Nate’s last name. Sadly, things between the couple quickly unravelled after the show, with Sheila accusing Nate of cheating. Sheila and Nate announced their divorce in 2017 after a lengthy public spat. Sheila is reportedly in a relationship with a businessman called Terrell Wilson.

Katie Conrad

Katie made her Married At First Sight season 10 debut with many unresolved relationship issues and was a wildcard for the experts. Sadly, her eventual matching and subsequent relationship with Derek Sherman only aggravated the issues. Despite their choice to stay together on decision day, the relationship was always on shaky legs. During their six-month check-in, the couple announced their divorce after Derek accused Katie of cheating. Nonetheless, in 2021, Katie got married to Brandon Eaves, and the couple welcomed a son in September 2022.

Sean Varricchio

Sean’s marriage to Davina Kullar got off to a great start due to the couple’s undeniable chemistry after their vows on MAFS season 2. However, living together with Davina didn’t go as well as Sean had envisioned, and the couple started having problems in their relationship over arguments about where they would live. Sadly, despite the initial enthusiasm, Sean and Davina said “no” on decision day. Sean has since remarried and welcomed two children with his partner (via Business Insider).

The ending to Samantha and Neil Bowlus’ relationship in Married At First Sight season 3 is one of the most unpredictable moments in the franchise’s history. After their vows, Neil and Samantha had a hard time getting along after their vows due to a lack of chemistry between them. Neil’s comments and jokes were often poorly received by Samantha. Surprisingly, on decision day, it was Samantha who said “yes,” but Neil shockingly said “no.” Nonetheless, in 2018, Samantha got married to her current husband, Chris, and the couple welcomed three children since then.

Alexis Williams Is Engaged

Married at First Sight season 15 Alexis Williams posing with Stacia and Krysten

Alexis’s strong-willed personality and Justin’s emotional and serious character meant there would always be a tussle of wills between them. Their dogs even adopted this clash of personalities, and the two canines did not get along until Justin had to give his dog away. The couple argued over several issues, and despite consummating their marriage, Alexis commented on needing someone more dominant.

Nonetheless, on decision day, they both said “yes” but immediately got into a fight about whether Alexis actually meant that she wanted to stay committed. Just days later, the couple decided to split. Nonetheless, Alexis is already back on the dating scene, and the Married At First Sight alum is currently engaged.
