Is Jack Wagner Returning To His Frisco Jones ‘GH’ Role…..

Jack Wagner tells The Mirror US that he is ready to return to General Hospital as his fan-favorite character Frisco Jones

He is known as the daddy of American soap thanks to his starring roles in many of the biggest long running shows on the box.

But now, Jack Wagner has teased exclusively to The Mirror US that he is open to a return as his most famous role – Frisco Jones from General Hospital. Wagner admits that audiences still speak to him about the rock singer turned police officer character, who first landed on screens forty years ago.

A secret comeback for Frisco, who last popped up on the ABC series in 2013, could make give ABC bosses a great way to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the infamous soap icon. Female fans especially quiz Wagner, who also appeared in other soaps Santa Barbara, The Bold and the Beautiful, and Melrose Place, about Frisco.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror US, he teased a return as Frisco: “You never die in a soap opera.”

Wagner, dishing up secrets on camera at the George Lopez Celebrity Golf Classic, confirmed fans talk to him about most about his work on General Hospital. Asked which character audiences like to hear about most, he laughed: “Frisco Jones General Hospital in the Eighties. That show was so huge and that really was my big start.

“Anyway, I’m on a series now called When Calls the Heart on the Hallmark Channel. We just, season 11 just premiered. So I’ve really been lucky to have some long running series and to be a part of them.”

Viewers love bringing up Frisco to Wagner constantly, as Wagner told us: “The greatest part of the Frisco Jones character is now I’m realizing because of people like you saying it’s so iconic.

“When women come up to me, the first thing they say is ‘you don’t understand,’ because back then there was one television and three channels you sat with your grandmother and mother after school, and that’s what that generation watched. So, so many women that are in their forties, fifties, sixties, did that. So they feel as though this character is part of their life. So it’s a real blessing.”

The Emmy nominee is proud to have made so many fans happy, but says fans are respectful.

“Not too many strange encounters. I’ve been very lucky and it’s great to give back. It makes my day when I can make someone else’s day,” he shares.

In 1984, Wagner rolled into GH as Frisco, when he was hired as the lead singer of a band called Blackie and the Riff Raff. His storyline and fame exploded, when Frisco later fell in love with Felicia Cummings, who was an Aztec princess.

As is typical in Port Charles, love was not enough to save the couple, as Frisco joined the police academy and then World Security Bureau. Audiences were devastated when he was presumed dead in 1988 after an explosion in a Quebec, only for him to return a year later.

In 1995, his work with the WSB meant that he was written out of the show, but returned 18 years later trying to win Felicia back. The reunion failed and ever since he has only be referenced in dialogue by Felicia talking to him on the phone. Frisco, he didn’t ask too many questions. Felicia noted that he never did.

Wagner spoke at George Lopez Celebrity Golf Classic, which helps 200 children suffering with kidney disease to a summer Kidney Disease & Transplant Camp.

“George has gone through a lot and he’s really done a lot for people, and this golf course, Lakeside Country Club are great. I had my tournament here for Leukemia Lymphoma Foundation, so I’ve been to George’s forever. So that’s kind of how we do, we show up for each other’s events,” he said.

Comedian and TV star Lopez had a kidney transplant in 2005.
