Emily Balch Claps Back at Chloe’s ‘Mean Girls’ Insult: The Drama Unfolds
Married At First Sight season 17’s Emily Balch has been difficult to understand throughout the season, but she’s taking issue with Chloe Brown’s criticism of her over anyone else’s. While Emily and Brennan Shoykhet’s marriage was tough to watch, Emily’s behavior was fascinating throughout her time on MAFS but especially in the last several episodes of the season. Though she was hopeful early on in her marriage, things shifted when her husband Brennan’s behavior became shadier. While Emily’s annoyance with Brennan wasn’t surprising, the pain she’s expressing over Chloe criticizing her is shocking.
“I wonder who the cyberbully is? News to me!”
In an Instagram Story posted after the Married At First Sight season 17 finale, Emily expressed her irritation over the way Chloe treated her during the finale episode. “I said I would be done but the irony here has me howlinggggg,” Emily shared. “Couldn’t have picked a better way to go out [with] a mf bang.” Emily shared the caption with a screenshot of a video preview from the episode, showing Chloe, Brennan, and Cameron Frazer talking about her “mean girl behavior” on MAFS. The link itself was captioned, “I wonder who the cyberbully is? News to me!”
Is Emily Or Chloe Right In This Dramatic MAFS Feud?
While Emily has been on Married At First Sight season 17 longer, her behavior on the series has had more time to settle with viewers. Emily’s issues stem from a place of insecurity, which seems to cause her to project an air of confidence that isn’t actually there. Chloe, on the other hand, is newer to the series and is far more self-actualized than Emily. She didn’t appear nervous to be on reality TV upon entering the show midway through the season to marry Michael, and hasn’t minced her words even once during her time on MAFS.
Though Emily has more tenure on MAFS, she’s shown worse behavior more frequently than Chloe. While Chloe’s expectations of Michael may have been difficult and caused a rift between the couple, her open honesty about what was happening in her life and her marriage was refreshing. She was hoping for a romantic connection, so she appeared hopeful. She was hurt by the realization that things weren’t working, so she appeared hurt. Chloe’s been genuine throughout the process, whereas Emily hasn’t always been upfront. It makes more sense for Chloe’s words about Emily’s behavior to be more believable.
With Chloe and Emily appearing to prolong the drama of Married At First Sight season 17 even more, things still have yet to come to an end for the Denver cast. After a season of drama that left the cast, the experts, and the audience drained, it’s time for this chapter to come to a close. While Emily’s feelings about her behavior being picked apart on MAFS are valid, letting things go and moving on would be best for herself and the Married At First Sight audience, who are patiently awaiting another season of the series.
