Burner Account Scandal: Chloe Brown Accuses Co-Star of Online Harassment
Married At First Sight season 17’s Chloe Brown may not have ended up with Michael Shiakallis, but her time with the cast after the season finished filming has proven potentially troubling. Chloe entered the season at the midway point, after believing she wouldn’t be part of Married At First Sight season 17 at all. Marrying Michael after his original bride left him at the altar, Chloe had to acclimate to her new relationship quickly in order to see if it was something she wanted to pursue long-term. Chloe may not have stayed married, but her journey was a fascinating one.
“One of them has written the most horrifying things you could possibly imagine about me.”
During Married At First Sight season 17’s “Where Are They Now” episode (via ET), Chloe revealed she believes some of her castmates are behind some of the vitriolic comments she’s been receiving online. In a moment shared with Brennan Shoykhet and Cameron Frazer, Chloe explained that her “life improved immensely when I removed myself from the women.” The MAFS season 17 star shared that “there is an account on Facebook–two of them. One of them has written the most horrifying things you could possibly imagine about me…I know for a fact it’s one of them with a burner account.”
Chloe Brown Claims MAFS Co-Stars Display “Mean Girl Behavior”
During her time with Brennan and Cameron, Chloe didn’t pull her punches when it came to the ex-wives, including Brennan’s ex Emily Balch and Cameron’s ex Clare Kerr. “It’s mean girl behavior,” Chloe explained, sharing she feels anyone who can participate in such childish behavior is “not ready for relationships of any kind,” especially marriage. Chloe’s feud doesn’t stop with Emily and Clare, though, as her relationship with Lauren Goodger suffered after the MAFS season 17 reunion as well. According to Lauren, Chloe “became very irate when I followed Michael on social media,” though Chloe’s perspective wasn’t shown.
Chloe’s relationship with Lauren was less involved than with other MAFS season 17 cast members, considering Lauren was a smaller part of the show by the time Chloe joined. Even so, there’s been support for Lauren and Michael since early in the season. After Michael’s original bride left him at the altar, it seemed he would’ve been a good match for Lauren, whose relationship with Orion Martzloff crumbled early on in the experiment. Despite being happy with Chloe, Michael is shown in the preview for the finale getting to know Lauren.
Despite the fact that Michael and Chloe ended their relationship on Decision Day, there are clearly still issues between the exes and the rest of the Married At First Sight season 17 cast that need to be ironed out. With hateful comments following Chloe after the season, she was quick to put the blame on the other members of the MAFS season 17 cast who have been hurtful to her. Though the men from the show have caused their exes pain, the women of Married At First Sight season 17 may be capable of darker behavior than viewers would’ve expected.
