From the moment Gil Cuero showed up in Lifetime scenes, many viewers liked him. As a firefighter and a good-looking man, many viewers swooned over him, especially over the fact that he is a romantic at heart. Unfortunately, he wasn’t matched very well on his season in Houston.
The Married at First Sight experts paired Gil with Myrla Feria in Season 13 scenes, and this was a match that clearly would not make it for the long haul. Myrla specifically requested a match who wasn’t bald, and, lo and behold, that’s what she got.
With things getting off on the wrong foot right out of the gate for these two, it wasn’t at all surprising when they didn’t make it as a couple in the end.

Gil Cuero shared some devastating news with his many Married at First Sight fans recently. Unfortunately, Gil broke the news of the passing of his beloved dog, Hype. Gil did not share any details about what caused the death of his beloved family member. However, he did share a pic collage to his story as a way to remember his best friend.
This is understandable, as the loss is likely painful to talk about. Based on what we know, the furry family member crossed the Rainbow Bridge on May 28, at the age of 14. As longtime Married at First Sight watchers know, marriages may not work out, but family pets will be there with you and for you till the end.
Married at First Sight fans saw this with fellow alum Justin Hall. His match wanted him to get rid of his dog and essentially choose their marriage over his beloved pet. As viewers saw, Justin chose his dog in the end. For Gil, when things didn’t work out with Myrla, he had Hype to turn to.
Married At First Sight: Gil Focused On Himself After Marriage Ended
Gil Cuero and Myrla Feria made it all the way to Decision Day in Season 13 and decided to stay married. However, by the time the reunion episode aired, tea spilled that Myrla changed her mind, and the pair ultimately went their separate ways.
Since then, Gil Cuero has been focusing on himself. He has done a lot of traveling, and viewers have loved seeing the journey he has been on since his Married at First Sight union ended.
For now, however, he is mourning the loss of Hype, and viewers wish nothing but the best for him during this difficult period.
