Renee Fernandez, a cast member from Before the 90 Days Season 7, has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons after being fired by TLC. Renee has not held back in throwing low blows at her ex-partner Chey and his family. She repeatedly violated her NDA and continued criticizing the show’s producers on her social media pages.
As a result, Renee was uninvited from the upcoming Tell-All, and her controversial statements have only intensified since then. Her recent Instagram posts reveal her ongoing disappointment with how she was portrayed on the show. She insists that she was the one who ended the relationship with her Nigerian prince, Chey, not the other way around.
According to Renee, Chey wanted to marry her, but his family refused because she is white and older. She claims she was not desperate but traveled to Nigeria for love, believing Chey’s declarations that she was the love of his life. However, upon arriving in Nigeria, Renee discovered that Chey was, in her words, “a child in an adult body” who couldn’t make any decision without his family’s approval.
Renee also boasted that Chey called her over 55 times after she returned to the United States, but she ignored him, stating that there was no going back after what she experienced in Nigeria. Her rant didn’t stop there. She accused Chey’s family of being users who only allowed her to be with him for financial benefits and the opportunities that come with being on a popular American reality TV show.
Although only the American partner gets paid by the show, Renee noted that participants often use that money to help their foreign partners with their K-1 Visa or support their families living in less fortunate countries.
In the caption of her recent Instagram post, Renee alleged that she was tricked by Chey and his romantic texts for five and a half years, only to find out in person that it was all a scam orchestrated by Chey and his sister. She has also criticized TLC’s producers, accusing them of shady practices that made her appear mentally unstable on the show.
Renee’s public outbursts and accusations have only fueled the controversy surrounding her.
