Something tells me 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days star Chidi Ikpeamaeze never loved Rayne Fernandez and had ulterior motives to date her. Rayne is a single mom of two from New Mexico. Rayne had welcomed two kids from two different relationships but had never experienced feelings of being wanted until she met Chidi. I was kind of amazed that Chidi and Rayne had known each other for five years but only decided to meet for the show. The 33-year-old Chidi became the first blind cast member of the franchise when Rayne went to meet him in season 7.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Chidi was the one who proposed the idea of them going on 90 Day Fiancé to Española resident Rayne. Rayne already spoiled their storyline after the first episode, which I feel means she isn’t interested in reality TV. She also doesn’t have a public Instagram account, so I doubt she wanted to become a social media influencer like Tigerlily Taylor or Vanja Grbic from her season. Rayne’s social media updates reveal she is a woman who’s hurting after being betrayed by someone she loved. She’s regretting every decision she ever took after meeting Chidi.

Chidi Hid He Was Blind From Rayne

Five years ago, the man of her dreams had “fallen into Rayne’s lap.” It was Rayne who had sent Chidi a friend request, but it doesn’t mean that he wasn’t acting sketchy when they started talking. I remember Chidi telling the cameras that he was “afraid” to tell Rayne that he was blind when they first met. Chidi thought it would have “scared” her away. He claimed he didn’t know he was talking to a white woman. Chidi only told her he was blind when Rayne sent him a booty picture, and he didn’t respond.

I watched as Chidi was practically giggling when he turned to the meat shop owner and told him, “She doesn’t like any animal killing” when he should have told that to his sister before the market visit. It was Chidi’s duty to inform his sister about it before the market visit.

To me, it seemed as if Chidi and Victoria had pre-decided that they would take Rayne to the market and to the chicken shop. They wanted to watch Rayne lose her temper on camera so they could prove she had some issues she was dealing with. Rayne didn’t want to watch a live chicken getting killed before her eyes. I’m sure Victoria could have bought pre-processed chicken from the same market, but that wouldn’t have ruined Rayne’s reputation on the show by making her look deranged.

It’s not just the chicken episode that Chidi used to make Rayne appear unhinged. He posted and deleted a long post on Instagram which Sunbearemii reposted. This time, I watched Chidi give a brand-new excuse as to why he didn’t sleep with Rayne. He claimed that it was due to the “unsettling, alien, and mystic things” Rayne mentioned during their discussions. I couldn’t believe what I was reading. Chidi claimed Rayne was able to communicate with the dead and that she’d asked him to be ready to be sacrificed. He also mentioned vampires and cannibals.

I wonder why if Chidi was so bothered by Rayne talking about vampires, cannibals, and a force that enters their sexual partners, why did he even allow her to come to visit him? Chidi could have asked Rayne to cancel her trip and dumped her, but he invited her over. It’s hilarious how Chidi wrote he wanted to “observe her and determine” if her frightening stories were “genuine or just bluffs.” Upon reading Chidi’s post, I found myself asking why would a deeply religious man like Chidi want to be associated with such a dangerous woman.

Rayne Accused Chidi & Family Of Being Fame Hungry

In October 2024, 90daythemelanatedway shared screenshots of an Instagram post by Rayne where the American woman revealed that she had broken up with Chidi. Rayne wrote that Chidi wanted to marry her, but he couldn’t because of his family. She accused Chidi of being “breastfed” and claimed he didn’t make any decisions on his own. The most surprising part of Rayne’s confession to me was her claiming Chidi and his family did the show for “the money and the opportunity.” Rayne wrote that she went to meet Chidi because she saw hope.

All the dots have started joining together for me. To me, it now looks as if Chidi always cared about money. While he may have liked Rayne at the start, he stayed with her in the relationship because of the perks. Rayne seemed to have been helping Chidi financially. However, he stabbed her in the back when he realized that there was more money to be earned as a reality TV star. I’m sure he’d heard of the show before and of the cast members before him, who were from Lagos, the very popular Michael Ilesanmi and Usman “Sojaboy” Umar.

Now, more proof of Chidi having used Rayne for fame has surfaced online. Bloggers like 90dayfiance_alexa have found details of Chidi having created online fan pages for himself months before his 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days debut. Considering Chidi and Rayne had split while filming itself, I find it strange that he still hoped to make a career out of reality TV. The “Chidi fanpage” was created in March 2024 when the show premiered in September 2024. Chidi always wanted to be famous. Rayne was just a victim.
