Yes, D Taurasi is back in the headlines yet again, bro. This time it’s for a terrible performance in this Belgium game. I’m here to tell you, she recorded zero stats. I repeat, zero stats. She played about 15 minutes in today’s game against Belgium and I’m telling you right now, the fans are having a field day tearing her up online.
So for those of you guys who might not know this, Team USA had a game against Belgium. Now, Team USA did win, but as for Superstar WNBA player Diana Taurasi, today was not a good day. It is being reported that USA Women clinched a quarterfinal berth and stretched the Olympic win streak to 57 straight. Breanna Stewart scored 26 points and the US team beat Belgium 87 to 74 on Thursday night, clinching the spot in the Olympic quarterfinals. A’ja Wilson added 23 points and 13 rebounds for the Americans, who have a 57-game Olympic winning streak that dates back to 1992 in Barcelona.
This was one of the closer games during the historic run of seven consecutive gold medals. Only three contests have been single-digit victories. Now, it’s looking like Team USA is getting better competition in this year’s Olympics than they have ever seen before. They’re used to blowing teams out, and as of right now, these other countries look like they’ve been in the lab because it looks like it is going to be a challenging step for these ladies to go get that gold for the eighth consecutive time.
Team USA faced a loud, spirited pro-Belgium crowd that made up most of the 25,000 in attendance. So it looked like 25,000 fans showed up to this game, but they weren’t rooting for the dinosaurs, bro. They were rooting for Belgium. The arena is about 30 minutes away from the country’s border. The two teams met in a pre-Olympic qualifying tournament in February in Belgium, and the US needed a tip-in from Stewart at the buzzer to come away with that win. So it looked like Belgium definitely is out to get Team USA.
Belgium once again tested the Team USA Women’s Basketball team as they’ve done a few other teams during their unprecedented Olympic run. The US built an early 13-point lead behind Stewart, but Belgium cut it down to eight at the half and closed to 50 to 46 going into the third quarter. Team USA led 60 to 53 heading into the fourth and then scored eight of the first 10 points to go up by 13. Now we all know what ultimately happened. They did win the game, but that is not the discussion of this video because we are boycotting that team right now. We’re talking about the dinosaur Diana Taurasi, bro.
So Diana Taurasi played 14 minutes in this game and just like I said earlier, she did not record a single stat. Now fans are furious about this because we all know Caitlyn Clark is supposed to be on this damn team, bro. And it looks like they let Diana Taurasi go, and just like I predicted, she wasn’t going to be that much of a difference going over there, bro. They should have just given the spot to Caitlyn. But as for her horrific performance, it is being reported that Diana Taurasi’s horrific outing for Team USA versus Belgium has Caitlyn Clark fans up in arms right now. While Diana Taurasi is obviously a legend, she failed to record a single stat in 14 minutes of action. She missed all three of her shots and committed a pair of fouls, bro. This is crazy. This is who they sent over there, dog?

Given the fact that the star rookie Caitlyn Clark was passed over in favor of Taurasi, fans everywhere are rightly livid with this performance. Unsurprisingly, there are a lot of folks bashing Taurasi and wondering why Clark wasn’t chosen to be a part of this year’s Olympic basketball team. Diana Taurasi simply did not look good in her farewell tour as she made no impact on offense and failed to stop anyone on defense. With young stars like Caitlyn Clark and Angel Reese on the come-up, it is fair to wonder whether Team USA is better off with Taurasi than they would be with Caitlyn.
Either way, the Americans should still have more than enough talent to go and win the gold, but Taurasi’s performance against Belgium had Clark fans everywhere wondering why she was picked over the Indiana star.
