Team WNBA had a great game against Team USA, and two of the major contributors to the win were Angel Reese and Caitlyn Clark. I think that Angel Reese really got a newfound respect for Caitlyn Clark and what she does on the court, realizing just how really, really good she is.
For this video, we are heading to Indiana. Angel Reese put out this post: “All-Star Barbie Part Two,” with a couple of other pictures and videos. One of them shows her and Caitlyn Clark clapping up and shaking hands after a great play. Just seeing what those two bring to the court together, I think that was one of the highlights, or one of the top five highlights, of the game.
One standout moment was that fast-break pass that Caitlyn Clark gave to Angel Reese. It just shows you what type of game Caitlyn Clark has because that’s an undervalued play. She continued to push the ball up the court to ensure Angel Reese’s defender tried to go at Caitlyn Clark, so she could give a quick pass to Angel Reese for an easy layup.
I think Angel Reese is probably realizing this is one of the best point guards she has ever played with. Having seen what it was like to play with an average point guard in Haley Van Lith, she now appreciates having someone on the team who knows how to push the ball, get her the ball, shoot when needed, and play fast and smart. I think she gained a newfound respect for how good Caitlyn Clark is and probably understands now why Caitlyn Clark is so talked about—not because of whatever people may think, but because she’s a really good basketball player who sometimes gets overlooked due to all the other things surrounding her name.
Angel Reese finally saw with her own eyes that Caitlyn Clark is really, really good, and she really likes playing with her. So, like I said, I think the respect is definitely mutual. But I think Angel Reese finally gained a lot of respect for Caitlyn Clark after getting on the court with her, receiving some of her passes, and hearing some of the other veterans talk about how good Caitlyn Clark is.
