I Believe Married At First Sight Season 18 Will Be Even Worse Than Its Predecessor
Married At First Sight season 18 is coming soon, and I’m certain that MAFS season 18 will be even worse than its disastrous predecessor, which saw the cast causing major drama. Married At First Sight is one of the few long-running reality TV dating series, which is a bit higher stakes than the traditional reality TV dating show. Asking participants to put their trust in a panel of experts comprised of Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Dr. Pia Holec, and Pastor Cal Roberson, MAFS participants get married moments after meeting for the first time, then try to work through building a relationship.
Throughout the course of the series, Married At First Sight cast members have had varying degrees of success in their relationships. While there have been some incredibly successful relationships built on the series, the majority of the couples that the experts have paired up choose not to stay married after the initial eight weeks they spend together on MAFS. With unsuccessful matches and the stain of MAFS season 17 on the show, I believe Married At First Sight season 18 will be even worse than last season, as there’s been no time for the show to work through its issues.
MAFS Season 17 Saw Unprecedented Drama
Although many were excited about the drama that Married At First Sight season 17 would bring, the cast did something so unexpected throughout the season that it had the producers, experts, and viewers floored beyond belief. Throughout the season, the cast of MAFS was going through some of the typical difficulties that the couples tend to deal with on the show, but the Married At First Sight season 16 cast seemed to be handling things differently. There was a consistent thread of the women accusing the men of thinking more about how they’d appear on camera than their relationships.
When the MAFS season 17 reunion began, the cast revealed that they wanted to share something they’d been dishonest about throughout the season with host Kevin Fraizer. The women of the cast shared that they’d been keeping a secret from their on-screen husbands, revealing that the men of the cast had orchestrated their storylines off-screen in order to give them favorable edits on-screen. The scandal made waves in the MAFS community as the cast members explained how they’d duped the producers and viewers in order to make their storylines look good on the air, even though they were entirely disingenuous.
MAFS Season 18 Was Filmed Before The Drama Was Revealed
While MAFS season 17’s cast revealed their deception during the reunion, MAFS season 18’s filming didn’t align with their reveal. Instead, the Married At First Sight season 18 footage had already been filmed and was being edited during the MAFS season 17 reunion. This caused a stir amongst MAFS viewers, as they understood the experts would have gone into MAFS season 18 unaware of what the last season’s cast had done. Rather than being able to change things up, the experts likely used a lot of the same tactics without any understanding of the changes MAFS season 17 would make.
Many have had some long-standing issues with the MAFS experts as it is, but knowing that they were so severely deceived, the fact that they went into another season of the series without knowing the extent is alarming. I believe that the MAFS experts would have made some extreme changes to their approach if they’d known what the previous seasons’ cast was doing behind their backs, but because of how late in the game it was revealed, they weren’t able to do anything to change the experience for the next season’s singles. Instead, MAFS season 18 will likely be similar.
The MAFS Season 18 Information Available Makes It Seem Controversial
While Married At First Sight season 18’s cast hasn’t been fully introduced yet, some online sleuths have been able to find a bit of their information and identified some potential issues in the cast. One cast member, Ikechi, appears to have auditioned for MAFS in the past, and seems to be following the series from city to city in order to get cast. Now that he’ll be appearing on MAFS season 18, Ikechi should be watched for signs of clout chasing when the season begins. I’m certain that Ikechi’s past auditions for Married At First Sight are a red flag.
Married At First Sight Season 18 Will Be The Worst Yet
I believe Married at First Sight season 18 will be the worst yet because the experts didn’t know what kind of issues they were facing with the previous season going into it. If the MAFS season 17 cast is capable of deception throughout their season, the experts have to be prepared for absolutely anything to happen in the future. Without being able to change their methodologies, MAFS season 18 will likely be similar to the previous season, including having a clout-chasing cast member. Married At First Sight season 18 will be even worse off for being like its predecessor.
