‘General Hospital’ Will Michael Easton Return After Finn’s Rehab?
Michael Easton has opened up about whether or not he would consider returning to General Hospital after Dr. Hamilton Finn’s stint in rehab. He was recently written off the show and has been candid about how difficult the transition has been for him. Now, fans want to know if he will come back to the soap opera after Finn wraps up his time in rehab. Continue reading to see what he has to say.
Dr. Hamilton Finn Left Port Charles For Rehab
Michael Easton announced that he would be leaving General Hospital after appearing on the ABC soap on and off for 12 years. He made the announcement on Instagram about 24 hours prior to his final episode aired.
“I’ve always been partial to the Irish goodbye. That’s where you leave the party without actually telling anyone you’re gone,” he said in the clip.
The GH star continued, “I’ve loved every minute that I’ve been here. I want to thank the entire cast and crew for allowing me to share their stage this past 10 years. Most importantly, I want to thank all of you for the kindness and love you’ve shown me and my family. I won’t ever forget you.”
In his last moments on the soap, it was revealed that the loss of Finn’s father on the show triggered a deep depression, which led him to fall off the wagon. He relapsed and, in his final episode on June 27, Finn left Port Charles to head to rehab. An emotional exchange between Finn and his daughter Violet (portrayed by Jophielle Love) was shown.
It was shared that the stint in rehab is supposed to be about three months. So, fans have been holding out hope that Michael Easton will return to reprise his role in the future.
Will Michael Easton Return To General Hospital?
Unfortunately for fans, it doesn’t seem like Michael Easton has any intentions of returning to General Hospital. Although it seemed like the writers left space for Dr. Hamilton Finn’s character to return, the soap star feels like his exit from the show is final.
“I think there was a finality [to my exit],” the actor told Soap Hub, “and there was a finality for me to it, too.”
The script came as a surprise to him too. Michael shared that he felt like he had to rush the storyline in his last days at General Hospital.
Now that he has said goodbye to the people he’s worked with for more than a decade, he isn’t keen on returning. That being said, he is thankful he was for his run on the show and will miss his costars.
However, Michael Easton doesn’t plan on making it back to Port Charles any time soon. Whether or not the General Hospital writers will recast the role has yet to be seen.
