General Hospital spoilers squeal Mac Scorpio (John J. York) is back in action, and GH fans couldn’t be happier. But we’re eager to get this show on the road when it comes to him finding out that Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) is his father.

Of course, some fans are theorizing that Mac may already be onto Cody’s big fat lie, and he’s just as awkwardly trying to figure out the right way to let the cat out of the bag.

Does he believe Cody has been lying to him? Is he wondering whether the DNA test got it wrong somehow, like a lab error?

While we’re all likely aware by now that John J. York was out for a year and a half while combating two forms of cancer — and we’re thrilled he’s in good enough health to bounce back and return to the show in his classic role — we don’t really know what he was up to while out of the country.

So far, he’s dropped very few hints about the company he has kept, and even fewer about what they were up to. “They” being he and Frisco Jones (Jack Wagner).

The mention of Frisco and his revelation about his abandonment of his family has led some fans to speculate whether we could see Wagner return to the show.

Sure, his ex — Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) — is there, but stranger things have happened, like Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) and Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) being back in action together. Still, none of what he has mentioned so far has clued us in on what he was doing while he was away.

Is it possible that Mac’s journey with Frisco led him down an uncomfortable road to his past where he unearthed secrets about the child he never knew he had?

Could he have come to this realization without even knowing that child was Cody until he put all of the pieces of information he’d been collecting together?

It makes sense since he had completely written off the idea that he and Cody were related, despite not being able to shake that feeling he gets around him that they’re supposed to be in one another’s lives. Cody knows that feeling all too well.

Cody came to town as a grifter with a penchant for gold, and over time he has turned into a guy looking to put down roots with a heart of gold he didn’t know he had.

Will Mac be able to overlook his inclination to lie just to hang onto Leopold Taub’s (Chip Lucia) presumed fortune now that Cody has grown into a more honorable guy?
