‘Jeopardy!’ Ken Jennings Mocks Wrong ‘Baby Daddy’ Answer

Jeopardy! has questions about all sorts of trivia, from the classics to more modern pop culture puzzles. However, it seems lately that many of the more recent pop culture questions are going over the heads of many current contestants. Host Ken Jennings made light of one wrong answer this past week.

Here is a look at the wrong answer and what Ken Jennings said about it.

Ken Jennings Mocks Missed Rihanna Jeopardy! Answer

There have been a lot of pop culture questions that contestants have been missing lately. These often include missed clues to hit songs by Drake and even answers that were wrong — but counted as correct — about older rap acts like Salt-N-Pepa.

Last week, Amar Kakirde was on Jeopardy! defending his run against newcomers Tim Keily and Ryan Alcorn. The category was “Name The Celebrity” for $400. The clue was, “A rapper; has two kids with Rihanna; actor in Dope and 2018’s Monsters.”

Amar tried to answer, but he was wrong. He responded with “Jay-Z.” While he might not know who RZA is, his choice of “Jay-Z” caused Ken Jennings to chime in with a nice comeback. ‘Big news for Beyoncé if true,’ Ken said. It was clear that Amar confused Rihanna and Beyonce when he gave his answer.

Ken’s response was funny, but some people on social media were not as kind.

  • “Jay-Z is not with Rihanna, oh my gosh Jeopardy Guy, study for real”
  • “Need a deep dive into the brain of the man on Jeopardy tonight who thought that Rihanna has kids with Jay-Z.”
  • “Beyoncé will have a cat fight with Rihanna after this.”

Pop Culture Jeopardy! Should Fix This Problem

It seems that when people come on Jeopardy!, they are more than ready to answer questions about Shakespeare, ancient medieval history, and U.S. Presidents. However, it seems that the contestants freeze up lately when the questions are about current musicians or movies.

That problem might be solved when Pop Culture Jeopardy! arrives on Prime Video. This show will specialize in those questions so the players know what they need to “study up” on. While some Jeopardy! fans feel the show will dumb things down, the struggles of players on the main show reveal it might be the best show yet.

The new show will feature teams instead of individual players and focus on movies, music, games, social trends, and other pop culture topics.

What are your thoughts on the Jeopardy! players struggle lately with current pop culture questions?
