90 Day: The Last Resort – Molly & Kelly Shouldn’t Be On The Show

Molly Hopkins has had a turbulent relationship with Kelly Brown, but that doesn’t mean that the two are perfect choices for 90 Day: The Last Resort. Although the show’s about helping couples, some pairs might benefit from trying to fix their problems without camera crews in tow. Also, some duos just aren’t fated to last, and Molly and Kelly have had a lot of problems lately. Of course, pairs who bring the drama are often cast in franchise content. That’s understandable, as they provide high entertainment value. However, in this case, Molly and Kelly’s issues may be different enough to make them a questionable pick for the series.

Molly started her journey in 90 Day Fiancé season 5. She was involved with a much-younger man, Luis Mendez. Since they weren’t at the same stages in their lives, they couldn’t really get on the same page. For example, Luis had trouble getting along with Molly’s kids, Olivia and Kensley Hopkins. The kids were in Georgia with their mom, and Luis didn’t seem thrilled about the prospect of living with them. Maybe he was just too young to play a paternal role. By early 2018, the two had announced their divorce. Later, Molly moved on with a new love interest, Kelly.

Is The Drama Between Molly & Kelly Too Extreme?

In July 2023, Kelly Brown was in trouble. An arrest warrant was issued in his name, due to an alleged altercation with Molly’s adult child, Olivia, who is in her 20s. She accused Kelly of some serious offenses, stemming from an incident which took place at Molly’s LiviRae lingerie business. Olivia claimed that Kelly was guilty of physical battery and sending harassing communications. However, he was later cleared on those charges because there wasn’t sufficient evidence, according to The Hollywood Gossip. In an interesting twist, Olivia received a jail sentence in April 2023, due to a probation violation.

While Kelly was cleared, there’s quite a bit of family dysfunction here, which may mar 90 Day: The Last Resort’s hippie vibes. The show, which features past-life regression therapy and other New Age couples’ “treatments,” seems designed to foster mellow, peaceful communication between warring “halves.” However, there are limits, and the issues with Molly, Kelly and Olivia may cross the line. It’s possible that such issues could overshadow the purpose of the series, which is uniting couples, by showcasing bad blood between a man and his partner’s daughter.

Molly’s a go-getter who pushes dietary supplements, including a “pink drink,” like nobody’s business. Molly’s weight loss journey was dramatic. However, the things that make her fascinating also earn her shade. For example, Molly may oversell her businesses online. Also, the end of her friendship with Cynthia Decker raised eyebrows. Meanwhile, Kelly’s a bit of a question mark. He was cleared of the allegations, but is he right for Molly?

Hopefully, Molly and Kelly will be great additions to 90 Day: The Last Resort. The series has so much promise, thanks to a serene tropical setting, some unique couple’s therapies, and interesting stars, including Big Ed Brown and Liz Woods. However, there’s always the chance that Molly and Kelly’s problems are too extensive for the show’s experts to solve.
