A photo of Michael standing next to a Mercedes-Benz was circulated online, with Loren Brovarnik and Scott Wern suggesting that Michael had used the GoFundMe money to purchase the expensive car. Michael assured fans that the car belonged to a friend. He hired Andrea M. Johnson of Vayman & Teitelbaum from Georgia to represent him.
