90 Day Fiance

90 Day Fiancé: Trust Issues and Cultural Clashes: A Relationship Doomed from the Start?

But I feel really bad and guilty about their situation. I feel like I’m starting this relationship in person with a lie, and that was never my intention. Do you know what I realized about this woman? If you listen to her with your eyes closed, it sounds like you’re listening to Renee. Her and Renee have literally the same freaking accent. Close your eyes and listen to them—it’s like you’re hearing the same person.

But anyway, this woman is talking about, “Oh, I feel like I’m starting a relationship on bad terms.” Like, yo, you know what you’re doing. Don’t try to talk to us like we’re idiots. We know what’s going on. You thought you were smart, don’t act like you regret it now. No, no, no. This woman—there’s something very off-key about her. There’s something off-key about Sonny, but I feel like there’s something off-key about her even more. But whatever, let’s continue.

I’ve always been particular about what I put in my body. Is it bad? No, I just worry about what I eat. I’m really picky. I’ve just never eaten curry before. I don’t even know what’s in curry. I’m tired, jet-lagged, and I just don’t want to eat something when I don’t even know what it is. Honestly, the disrespect is here. She decided to be with a man from a different culture, but she’s not open to at least trying the food he’s prepared for them both.

Like, yo, this guy went out of his way to make sure a nice meal was ready for you both, and she’s like, “Nah, I don’t want it.” You know what? Let me be fair. It’s not a bad thing that she doesn’t want it. It’s bad that she didn’t voice this tune beforehand. If she knows she’s a picky eater, she should have had a conversation with him a long time ago, saying, “Hey, just so you know, I’m a picky eater, very conscious about what I eat. If you’re ever going to make something for me, let me know so I can tell you if I’ll like it or not.”

Listen, it may come across as rude or whatever, but at least you’ve stood your ground. For me, I always make it abundantly clear that I’m a pescatarian. You see what I’m saying? And I always say, “Hey, just so you know, I don’t eat certain things.” I also make sure to avoid dairy foods 99% of the time. It’s called communication—it’s not transparency, it’s just basic communication.

The fact that she hasn’t voiced this is wild to me. Doing it this way is utterly rude and disrespectful. That’s rude! Food is really important in my culture. Making food with love—I wanted to introduce those things to her so she could also love my culture. She refused to try it, and he’s not lying. In his culture, food is a very big thing.

In fact, food is a big thing in a lot of different cultures, you know what I mean? You go to Italy, and most Italians—listen, their pastas, their pizzas, and other things—they make them with a certain level of passion. Come on now! You go to India, and the foods they make are made with passion too.

But honestly, if you’re going to be with someone from a background where food is their everything, be open to trying what they serve you. But at least let them know in advance what you won’t eat. Point blank, period.

This woman—she arrives and the first thing she does is tell her ex to hide. Then she tells her partner, “I don’t want to try the food you put effort into.” This woman—I don’t trust her. I’ll hold it myself. When he says, “I don’t trust you,” I want to emphasize that because I feel like it’s going to be a big thing moving forward for the rest of the season.

She brought her ex. As soon as he finds out about the ex, he’s going to be like, “Yeah, this is why I don’t trust you.” There have been things said before about why he doesn’t trust her. Whether she trusts him or not, clearly she doesn’t, otherwise, she wouldn’t have brought her ex with her. Trust is definitely going to be a big factor in their relationship. Whether or not it’s something they focus on, I don’t know.
