Niles is a 27-year-old man from Mobile, Alabama. Niles always knew that he was different. He faced difficulty in school and couldn’t get along with people. Niles was told he had autism spectrum disorder. Niles told the cameras about how painful it can be both emotionally and mentally. In most cases, it affects one’s ability to grasp social nuances.
Niles revealed how he can be blunt, leading to him having difficulty forming normal relationships. Niles also has heightened senses and has to be careful when it comes to noises, lights, electricity, etc. Niles spoke about how he loved his peer advocate job because he’d also loved to stand up for people. However, this job alone did not help Niles. He revealed he was doing food deliveries to save money for his trip. Nile knew he was going to spend at least $3000, and also a bride price which he had to pay Matilda’s family.
Matilda Is Taking Advantage Of Miles’ Being Autistic
Niles has been dating Matilda for two years since meeting her on social media. Matilda had sent a DM to Niles “out of nowhere.” At first, he thought it was too good to be true because she was beautiful. Matilda’s smile made Miles feel “a type of way.” Given what he had been through, Niles didn’t think that love was possible for him. However, Niles and Matilda grew closer as they started talking every day. Matilda told Niles she accepted him for who he was when he told her he had autism spectrum disorder.

Niles was flying to Ghana to meet Matilda for the first time in person. Niles told his co-workers that he was still thinking about bringing Matilda to the U.S. He told them that Matilda wanted him to get married on that trip. It made Niles feel overwhelmed and anxious. Niles was the one who’d proposed to Matilda on the phone, but she started planning her wedding immediately. Niles confessed he was afraid of telling Matilda to postpone the wedding because she would then end things immediately. Niles didn’t want to lose the love of his life.
Matilda Thinks Of Miles’ Autism As A “Curse”
Matilda spoke about how Niles makes her happy when asked why she fell for him. She also revealed that Niles was sending her money in the two years that they were dating. She spoke about how Niles had told her about him having autism. She told the cameras that a lot of people in Ghana don’t understand autism. “And some people believe it’s a curse,” she added. Niles had told Matilda that he was overly sensitive, he didn’t like noise, and that he could become easily overwhelmed. Matilda knew that coming to Ghana was going to be hard for him.
All Matilda Wants Is To Come To The U.S.
Matilda revealed that she didn’t have a good job in Ghana. She was helping her mother out at the market. Matilda sold roasted plantains and ground nuts. To Matilda, Offinso was a boring place because it didn’t have clubs or big restaurants. Matilda declared she wanted to move to the U.S. to start her future there. Matilda explained how difficult it is to make money in Offinso. Her father used to be a carpenter, but he passed away. Matilda revealed that the market was not good for plantains. “Sometimes now you won’t even get half of the money,” she added.
