His mother’s illness made Tyray quit his job and become a full-time caretaker. Tyray found a glimmer of happiness in his life when he started an online relationship with 27-year-old student Carmella from Barbados. During the lockdown, Tyray even traveled to the country to see Carmella in person.
It didn’t bother Tyray that Carmella had never video-chatted or called him in over four years. Tyray was ghosted by Carmella in Barbados, but that also didn’t stop him from chatting with her. Tyray thought it was a good idea for him to star in 90 Day Fiancé with his international girlfriend. However, while the producers were doing background checks, they discovered Tyray was being catfished by someone whose name was Christian. Nonetheless, Tyray stayed positive that Carmella was a real person. He decided to uncover the truth about his scammer.
Tyray Was Being Catfished By Christian For Four Years
Tyray met Carmella from Barbados on a dating site over four years ago. Tyray was instantly attracted to Carmella because, as Tyray said, she was a “hot, thick, beautiful woman.” Carmella was there to give him support when his mother had a stroke. Tyray and Carmela chatted on Snapchat. It’s also where they exchanged naughty pictures. Tyray seemed excited to talk about his dating life, but at the end of episode 1, a producer informed Tyray that the person he had been messaging was not the same person in the pictures and videos.
Tyray’s Sister Lashanti Uncovered Carmella’s Real Identity

90 Day Fiancé producers discovered that Carmella was actually a man named Christian. Meanwhile, Tyray’s sister Lashanti did her own investigations, discovering that Carmella’s photos were taken from an escort website. Tyray insisted Carmella was real and could have been “in prison or something” and made a jail-time pen pal. Lashanti tried her best to knock some sense into Tyray, but he didn’t listen. Still in disbelief, Tyray hired a private investigator who shocked the siblings by revealing the person in the pictures was indeed named Carmella who was an adult model and cam girl.
Tyray Fears He Could “Catch Feelings” For Sweet Carmella The Escort
Tyray didn’t stop being delusional because he got in touch with the real Carmella and asked if he could meet her. Tyray traveled to Denver to meet Carmella. He wanted to find out if she was conspiring with the person who was in scammer.
The PI had informed Tyray that Carmella used a different PayPal account than the one used by Christian, where Tyray was sending him money. However, Tyray was also afraid that he would “catch feelings” for Carmella since she was the face of the person he’d started his Snapchat relationship with.
