Slow-Mo Video of Caitlin Clark’s Epic Stepback Three vs. Dream Breaks the Internet
Caitlin Clark had a standout performance in the Indiana Fever’s 104-100 overtime win against the Atlanta Dream on Sunday, September 8. In addition to helping her team secure the victory, Clark tied the WNBA record for the most games (five) with 25 points and 10 assists.
One of the highlights of her game was a spectacular step-back three-pointer in the second quarter over Dream guard Maya Caldwell. After getting tangled up while driving to the basket, Clark passed the ball to teammate Katie Lou Samuelson, who quickly returned it to Clark when she found an open spot.
Clark’s step-back three was one of her four made threes that night, but it was by far the most stunning. The play has since gone viral, with a nine-second slow-motion clip amassing an impressive 382,000 views in less than 36 hours on social media.

Clark, the current frontrunner for the WNBA Rookie of the Year title, has an impressive array of skills. She just showcased one of them with a remarkable play that momentarily freed her from her defender. The challenge of pulling up for a three-pointer with so little time and space is incredibly high.
But then again, this is Caitlin Clark we’re talking about.
